In the lead up to the festival, for quite some time Ballyburn was being touted as the next best novice hurdler.

So much so, he was favourite for both the Supreme on the Tuesday and the Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle on the Wednesday.

The Ballyburn is a fair bit further at 2m5f and was ultimately decided late on that he’d go for that rather than the 2m on the Tuesday, won by Slade Steel.

He beat that horse comfortably last time out and is clearly one to watch as another super star is emerging.
