Fabrizio Romano Says Liverpool Could Target Renato Sanches

While supporters cheer on their home countries, many are secretly scouting players that their respective clubs could sign.

Liverpool supporters are no different.

Fans have taken to social media to show who they believe Liverpool should sign this summer to replace Geroginio Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum, who has recently signed with Paris Saint-Germain, is showing that replacing him will be a tough task.

The newly announced Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has been putting on a clinic at the 2020 EURO.

Playing in a more attacking role than he did under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, Wijnaldum has scored three goals in three matches.

While Wijnaldum’s performances have been widely discussed, the star of the tournament has been Group F.

Dubbed this year’s “group of death”, Group F featured heavy favourites of Portugal, Germany, France and the dark horse Hungary.

After the final group stage matches on Wednesday, drama unfolded and France finished first, Germany second and Portugal third meaning that Hungary was eliminated.

Many Liverpool supporters were watching France vs Portugal dreaming of signing Kylian Mbappe, but it was another player in that match that Fabrizio Romano linked with a Liverpool move.

According to Italian journalist and transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are showing interest in signing Renato Sanches.

When speaking to Anfield Watch Romano said that Liverpool are looking for players like Diogo Jota who are “not big names and not so exciting when you sign them, but when they go on the pitch and you see them, you like them.”

“[Liverpool] believe they have the opportunity to sign this type of player again this summer. Young but with lots of experience who could also be a starter.”

“Renato Sanches provides this kind of opportunity.”

“In my opinion, Renato Sanches would be a top deal for Liverpool.”

Romano ended by saying, “Liverpool could go for some bigger names if they find themselves in the position to do so.”

It seems that Liverpool are searching high and low for the proper reinforcements this summer so any transfer is on the table.
