Exclusive: Snowfall’s Angela Lewis on how John Singleton is still “honoured”

STILL WITH YOU #STILLWITHYOU

From Digital Spy

Snowfall, the popular FX crime drama, has just returned for its fourth season. While everything might look like business as usual on-screen, behind the scenes there has been a massive change.

John Singleton, the show’s creator and iconic director of films like Boyz in the Hood and 2 Fast 2 Furious, sadly passed away in 2019 just before the third season started airing.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy about what is different now that John is sadly no longer here, star Angela Lewis said: “The biggest change is that emotional change, in regard to how we’re feeling emotionally.

“We lift each other up and we keep each other riding high, and also grounded at the same time. It’s really quite profound the bond that we’ve created. But it sucks, not having him around.

“There’s definitely a space carved out for him; we have a director’s chair there that is only for him. And his intentions are always honoured and kept, and he’s definitely missed.

“I think integrity-wise, the integrity of the show is still intact, because he really did fight for inclusion in front of and behind the scenes, behind the cameras, and everything that he wanted the show to be.

“He insisted that it be there, that we honour the people who we are portraying, and the injustices that were inflicted upon the community that led us to where we are today. He was very adamant that that be the essence of the show, and he fought for that. Everybody wants to honour that, so the integrity of the show is definitely still there.”
