President Joe Biden lived up to his Sleepy Joe nickname on Wednesday as he snuck in a nap on the beach after a late date night the evening before with Jill Biden.
As the first lady read beside him, President Biden put his beach chair in lounge-mode and snoozed in the sun as the couple enjoys their week-long Rehoboth vacation.
‘Hard to complain about this weather,’ the president told reporters later in the afternoon as he and Jill headed back to their private $2 million beach home in the Delaware seaside town.
It was sunny and in the 70s for the first couple, who enjoyed a lazy day at the beach after their date night.

Biden caught some shut eye after he and Jill Biden took a late-night walk on the beach on Tuesday to see the super moon that was shining down on the water. The president was dubbed ‘Sleepy Joe’ by Donald Trump during the 2020 presidential campaign in attempt to paint him as lazy.
But Biden, 80, has been active during his time at Rehoboth Beach with a daily bike ride. He and the first lady also have enjoyed reading in the sun and even a date night as they spend a week away from the White House.
As they had time in the sun, back in Washington D.C., the nation’s capitol is bracing for former President Donald Trump’s arraignment on Thursday at a federal courthouse and Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer accused the president’s son of committing an ‘abuse of soft power’ by putting his dad on speakerphone during business meetings.
But the Bidens had a calm day on day five of their week-long beach holiday.
The duo sat under a blue beach umbrella on Wednesday as crowds of onlookers were held off by a ring of Secret Service agents.
Phones were held up to capture the couple as they chilled on the beach after their romantic date night of dinner, a movie and a walk in the moonlight.
The president kept his shirt on unlike an earlier beach visit where onlookers captured him topless and the photos of the 80-year-old went viral.
But he was spotted taking phone calls and looking at his iphone. At one point he handed it to the first lady to show her something on it.
Jill Biden continued reading the Pulitzer Prize winning novel Demon Copperhead, which the book-loving first lady has been reading during her downtime. She also made sure to slather on some sun block and even took a walk down to the water.

Earlier that day President Biden went for a bike ride. The first lady wasn’t with him, unlike previous days where the two cycled together around a five-mile bike loop near their home.
The couple lazed on the beach after a late-night date night on Tuesday evening.
The Bidens took in a seafood meal at Matt’s Fish Camp before heading to the local theater to see Oppenheimer, the film about the man who developed the atomic bomb.
‘It was compelling,’ Biden told the press after he finished watching the three-hour epic.
They concluded their date night with a romantic walk on the beach to see the super moon, which is when a full moon occurs near the Moon’s closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit. The president had his arm around the first lady.

Biden, in a recent interview with Jay Shetty’s ‘On Purpose’ podcast, revealed that he hadn’t yet seen Oppenheimer, which is garnering Oscar buzz, but wanted to.
The Bidens head to their Wilmington, Delaware, home on Friday.
