Everything you need to know about the McRib’s magnificent return to McDonald’s
McRib #McRib
The McRib is back, baby! Well, almost. McDonald’s announced today that it will reintroduce the beloved handheld to all U.S. menus on Wednesday, December 2. That’s 33 days away—not that we’re counting or anything.
We know what you’re thinking: Doesn’t the McRib make its saucy return every year? In certain markets and regions, yes. But the fast-food chain hasn’t taken the McRib nationwide since 2012. That means that come December 2, the boneless sandwich will be available at every single McDonald’s location across the country for a limited time.
“The McRib has been a beloved menu item at McDonald’s since its inception nearly 40 years ago,” VP of Menu Innovation Linda VanGosen says in a press release. “There’s nothing quite like the taste of the McRib. To our customers, it’s become more than a delicious, saucy moment… it’s a season, and it’s taking the internet by storm. That’s why this year, we’re proud to serve the McRib nationwide for everyone to enjoy.”
The McRib made its big debut back in 1982 and hasn’t changed much since then. A homestyle bun encases a slab of boneless pork drenched in tangy barbecue sauce and topped with raw onions and pickles. A recipe this right doesn’t need tweaking. Look out for the McRib’s nationwide appearance on December 2.
