The Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has said he is not actively looking to sell the club, but is seeking investment to help fund the new £500 million stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Moshiri clarified his intentions after protests resurfaced this week against his six-year ownership tenure, in which Everton have gone backwards on the pitch and encountered financial constraints due to reckless spending.

The Iranian billionaire had held talks with prospective buyers of the club after Everton avoided relegation from the Premier League, but he recently ended discussions with a group fronted by the former Chelsea and Manchester United CEO Peter Kenyon and the American businessman Maciek Kaminski.

Now Moshiri has said he wants to “reassure” fans that Everton are not for sale in an email
