Erling Haaland Scores 12 Minutes Into His Manchester City Debut, It’s The First Of Many

After missing City’s 2-1 win over Club America earlier this week, Haaland was thrust into the action from the off at Lambeau Field against a team he knows very well from his time in the Bundesliga.
Jack Grealish laid it on a plate and squared it to the big Norwegian and though it was a simple finish, you get the feeling it’s the type of goal he will score time and time again in sky blue.
Immediately after Haaland found the net at the back post, the game was suspended due to a lightning storm and both sets of players exited the pitch.
Kick-off had initially been delayed due to the weather conditions and fans were ushered back into a crowded concourse.
It was decided that the game be reduced to an 80-minute contest as a result.
Manager Pep Guardiola had said Haaland was not involved in City’s first friendly due to suffering from “niggles” but maintains the marquee signing is working towards full fitness.

“He had some problems at Dortmund last season but we try to handle it, it’s not a big issue,” Guardiola said in a press conference.
“We want to take care of them. When we come back, we want to be fit; the player has to be fit to be ready. It will come.”
And City’s club-record signing Grealish reckons he will become “unstoppable” once he really finds his feet at his boyhood club.

“He is a great guy, a brilliant guy. The first day that I met him we took a car together and even after that ride I thought, ‘what a guy’,” Grealish said after the club America win, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“He’s so down to earth and quite up front with the way he is. You get used to that. He’s looked good in training and once he reaches full fitness will be unstoppable. I can’t wait to play with him and I’m really looking forward to it.”
