Real Madrid have completed the signing of Brazilian sensation Endrick.
The 16-year-old wonderkid will leave current club Palmeiras in the summer of 2024 and Standard Sport understands the deal is worth an initial £53m, with a further £9m to be paid through various add-ons.
Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain both held extensive talks to sign the teenager, who was invited to their respective training facilities.
Thiago Silva was even involved in talks to sign Endrick, though Madrid have ultimately won out.
Vinicius Jr is thought to have been central in that. The 22-year-old’s move to the Spanish capital was a similar one, first signing in 2017 before leaving Flamengo for the Santiago Bernabeu a year later as an 18-year-old.
On Thursday, the Brazilian club released a statement which read: “Palmeiras, Real Madrid-ESP and representatives of striker Endrick reached an agreement this Thursday (15) for the transfer of the player to the Spanish club in July 2024, when he will turn 18.
“The terms and amounts of the transaction are confidential.”
Chelsea, however, are expected to sign another Brazilian youngster in the form of Vasco de Gama midfielder Andrey Santos.
The 18-year-old has been likened to Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes and is close to a £12m move to Stamford Bridge despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
