Emma Raducanu has it all – she is talented, dynamic and clever

I met Emma Raducanu for the first time at Bromley Tennis Centre when she was 12 years old. All of the children there had beautiful service techniques but I remember her in particular. She was so talented and really engaged on the court. They knew then at the centre that she was special, and she quickly became the brightest female prospect in the country.

Now, at the age of 18, she has everything. Her game is dynamic, she is composed on the court and also extremely intelligent off it. Her parents were very keen for her to finish her studies, which is the opposite approach to how it was in my day when players were fast-forwarding to tennis and forgetting their education.
