Face 2 Face, an amazing tribute to superstar Elton John and Billy Joel, will be performed Friday, Jan. 20.
John and Joel dominated the charts through the 70s, 80s and 90s selling millions of records with mega hits such as “Saturday Night’s Alright,” “Candle in the Wind,” Crocodile Rock,” “Piano Man,” “Big Shot,” “Just the Way You Are,” and many more.

Ronnie Smith as Elton John, and Mike Santoro as Billy Joel, these two artists promise a high energy, interactive rock ‘n’ roll show that has each performing a solo set before a finale where the two piano men play together on separate pianos while sharing lyrics on each other’s songs.
The performance will be held at 7 p.m. at Odell Williamson Auditorium, on the campus of Brunswick Community College, 150 College Road, N.E., Bolivia. Coffee with the Girls
Southport Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce Coffee with the Girls will meet at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 in conference room #2 of Dosher Memorial Hospital.
The topic will be about women’s health with speaker Maritza Manrique-Kiniry, MD, Dosher Medical – Women’s Health.

Coffee with the Girls is a benefit of being a member of the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce, and is open to all female owners, managers or representatives of any Chamber member business or non-profit organization.

Spotlight Scientist program: Meteorologist
This family friendly program will allow visitors to step into the shoes of working scientists, describe the research they conduct, and dive into their world with hands-on activities.

The free drop-in program, Navigation Tools in the Age of Sail will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 21 at North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport, 204 E; Moore St. The program is designed for all ages, which will combine live interpretation, material culture displays and hands-on activities to help visitors understand how seafarers of old explore the world.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at Museum of Coastal Carolina, the program will be focusing on bird eggs. Bird eggs come in all shapes and sizes and can vary greatly. The museum has a historic collection of bird eggs on display in the “Native Nature” exhibition. Visitors can learn about the different types of bird eggs, birds that lay those eggs, and the basics of bird egg identification.
