Elon gains commitment from Forest Hills wide receiver Ross Smith

Marshville, N.C. — Ross Smith, a standout wide receiver at Forest Hills High School, has committed to Elon University.
Smith chose the Phoenix over offers from Lenoir-Rhyne, Richmond, Howard, NC Central, UNC-Pembroke, Emory & Henry, Wingate, and East Carolina.
He announced his choice to Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
He is listed at six feet tall and 175 pounds.
Last season, Smith racked up 660 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns on 43 receptions. Since his freshman season on varsity, Smith has accumulated 1,230 total yards and 19 total touchdowns.
Forest Hills finished the 2022 season with a 9-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the Rocky River 2A/3A Conference.
