EastEnders viewers were left enraged as Chelsea Fox betrayed her mother Denise by reuniting with serial killer dad Lucas Johnson.
Denise was shaken to be reunited with her murderous ex-husband as she took son Raymond to his church.
Lucas was seeking forgiveness for his sins as he made a speech about redemption – clearly his past as a priest came in handy.
As Denise fled the congregation and Lucas followed, she was horrified to find that eldest daughter Chelsea, now played by Zaraah Abrahams, was there with her father and seemingly in league with him.
Questioning her daughter’s choices, Denise was shocked as Chelsea snapped back that she was a grown adult and could make her own choices.

A distraught Denise fled with Raymond and returned home to sister Kim and family to announced that Lucas had been released from prison.
Chelsea later visited and admitted she’s given her dad another chance and has been secretly seeing him for months.
Naturally, longtime EastEnders fans were perplexed by Chelsea’s apparent short-term memory when it came to spending time with her dodgy father.
One EastEnders viewer wrote on Twitter : “Chelsea you cold hearted b***h #Eastenders “.

Meanwhile, a different Albert Square devotee tweeted: “This Chelsea babe, what in the actual f is wrong with her?? Someone that tried to kill your mother, you’re protecting him ?? #EastEnders “.
Elsewhere, others were just horrified that Lucas managed to get out of prison at all:” #eastenders 5 murders but Lucas Johnson is back on road? What rehabilitation scheme is this that you can kill 5 and do 4 years? I know it’s a fictional TV show but come on guys ffs”.

Finally, one EastEnders viewer concluded that they were just loving the drama: “Lucas is killing me, getting his sins forgiven on Christmas Day? Nah that is so reckless I love this #Eastenders “.
Well, we will just have to wait and see if Lucas really is a changed man and why exactly is Chelsea on Lucas’ side?
EastEnders continues on Boxing Day at 8.45pm on BBC One.
