EastEnders character and much-loved landlady of the Queen Vic pub Peggy Mitchell (Dame Barbara Windsor) lives on as she begins trending after Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer was kicked out of a pub in Bath.

Rod Humphris, who runs The Raven pub in Bath, told the politician to get out of his pub Peggy Mitchell style during a heated row over lockdown restrictions.

Mr Humphris said he was a lifelong Labour voter and had to be held back by security guards as he told Sir Keir he wasn’t welcome.

The landlord told reporters that he was angry at Sir Keir for failing to ask if lockdown was functioning.

The Labour leader was in Bath to support the West of England mayoral candidate Dan Norris ahead of the elections.
