Wells Fargo is offering a $525 bonus when you open a Wells Fargo Way2Save® Savings account or Wells Fargo Platinum Savings and make qualifying deposits. Accounts must be opened in a Wells Fargo branch with the bonus offer code available on the Wells Fargo website. Wells Fargo has branch locations across 36 states. This offer is only available until January 9, 2024.

Annual percentage yields (APYs) and account details are accurate as of October 18, 2023.

After opening your account with a minimum of $25, you must deposit $25,000 into your new account within 30 days and maintain that amount for the following 90 days. After meeting all requirements, your bonus will be deposited into your savings account within 30 days. This offer is only available for new Wells Fargo savings account customers.

The money you deposit cannot come from another Wells Fargo account. It must come from an outside account or from another source, such as a direct deposit paycheck from an employer. If you deposited money seven days before the bonus offer code was applied to the account, then that money will qualify as new money.

The Platinum Savings account has a waivable $12 monthly fee when you keep a daily account balance of at least $3,500 each fee period. The Way2Save Savings account has a $5 monthly fee that can be waived by meeting one of the following requirements per statement period:

  • $300 minimum daily balance
  • One automatic transfer of at least $25 from a linked Wells Fargo checking account
  • One automatic transfer each business day of at least $1 from a linked Wells Fargo checking account
  • One or more Save As You Go transfers from a linked Wells Fargo checking account
  • You’re 24 years old or younger
  • A statement period is anywhere between 25 to 35 days and differs for each account. You can find your statement period in the monthly service fee summary section on your mobile account.

Both accounts have other fees you should be aware of:

  • $2.50 non-Wells Fargo ATM fee
  • $10 cashier’s check fee
  • 3% international transaction fee
  • $25 incoming and outgoing collections fee
  • $5 money order fee
  • $15 domestic incoming wire transfer fee
  • $25 domestic outgoing wire transfer fee
  • The Way2Save Savings account has an APY of 0.15% on all balances. The Platinum Savings account APYs differ based on your account balance:

  • $100,000 to $499,999.99 earns 1.01% APY

Interest is compounded daily and paid monthly for both the Way2Save and Platinum Savings accounts. All accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Keep in mind that all earnings will be reported to the IRS.
