Early rain ending with clouds sticking around, 60s for Wednesday afternoon
Good Wednesday #GoodWednesday
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Wednesday morning. We are starting off another morning with light to moderate scattered rain showers across the Tennessee Valley.
Locally heavy rainfall overnight has caused puddles and some ponding to form on area roads, please be safe for the morning commute. On top of the rainfall and wet roads, areas of patchy but dense fog will also slow down your morning drive to work and school. Rain showers will end by mid to late morning and skies will stay cloudy through the rest of the day, highs today will be in the middle to upper 60s with the wind becoming more northerly.
Skies stay partly to mostly cloudy overnight with Thursday morning lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Morning fog will be dependent on how much wind we have overnight. Thursday will be a very pleasant day with partly cloudy skies and calm winds, highs will reach the lower 70s for the afternoon. Rain showers will begin to move in from the west late Thursday evening into Friday.
We have the 48 First Alert out for Friday for another significant rainfall event across the Tennessee Valley. Rainfall rates can be high through the day Friday with an additional one to two inches of rainfall possible, the threat for flooding will need to be monitored closely. On top of heavy rainfall, a few isolated stronger storms cannot be ruled out but the severe weather threat appears to be more significant to our south.
Showers will taper off early in the day Saturday as the cold front moves through. Sunday will bring some sunshine but cooler temperatures with highs only in the 50s.
