Eagles star goes off on Jalen Hurts, who sits defeated on sidelines

The Philadelphia Eagles’ season cratered in epic fashion: 10-1 record to six losses in seven games, including a 32-9 beatdown by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC wild-card game Monday night.

They lacked chemistry, according to Hall of Famer Ray Lewis on the “Manningcast,” and that led to a lack of answers during this free fall, especially against Tampa Bay.

It boiled over in visible frustration on the sidelines, such as when tight end Dallas Goedert chewed out quarterback Jalen Hurts as the QB sat emotionless on the bench late in the fourth quarter. Hurts barely looked at Goedert, who scored the only Eagles TD, as backup quarterback Marcus Mariota patted Goedert on the shoulder.

“Been watching that all night long,” ESPN NFL announcer Joe Buck said. “Goedert’s frustrated.”

The Eagles finished with 275 yards of offense and 13 first downs compared to 426 tards and 23 first downs for the Bucs.

Now, the Bucs will face the Lions on Sunday, while the Eagles will likely be confronting an offseason of change.
