PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders broke off an 82-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter against the New Orleans Saints — the fourth-longest rushing play in team history — with an assist from rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Earlier on the drive, Hurts, making his first start in place of Carson Wentz, kept it on a zone-read and sprinted left for 15 yards. Two plays later, he handed it to Sanders on a similar look, and Sanders ran to daylight.

He broke a would-be tackle by former Eagle safety Malcolm Jenkins before sprinting down the left sideline for the touchdown.

The score put the Eagles up 17-0 — their first 17-point lead since Week 1.
