Johnson was immediately replaced by rookie Jack Driscoll. The fourth-round pick previously replaced Johnson during the Week 1 loss to the Washington Football Team.
Johnson then was walked to the locker room by trainers. He returned to the game after missing the second offensive series but couldn’t finish the drive due to the injury. Driscoll then resumed his duties as backup right tackle.
Johnson returned again on the second drive of the second half.
The Eagles are already without starting left tackle Jason Peters and left guard Isaac Seumalo. That duo was replaced by Jordan Mailata and Nate Herbig, respectively, on Sunday.
The Eagles have guards Sua Opeta and Jamon Brown, and center Luke Juriga available as potential replacements. Opeta has the ability to play offensive tackle, while Brown has played the position in the past.
The Eagles trail the 49ers 14-8 with 5:24 left in the third quarter.
