Duncan Robinson signs biggest NBA contract ever for an undrafted player
Duncan Robinson #DuncanRobinson
Now this is a feel-good story.
Remember the days when Duncan Robinson was but a fledgling, undrafted player in the NBA, signing two-way deals and getting quick stints on the court? While that seems like an eternity ago, given how he’s become a prominent sharpshooter from deep for the Miami Heat, now the emerging star is becoming a household name — and getting paid like one.
The former Michigan basketball starter-turned-sixth-man-of-the-year turned things up late in his Ann Arbor career, but once he got a chance to show the league his prowess from deep as well as his defense, he emerged as a starting-quality player. Then he really turned on the jets.
As a result, Robinson is signing a five-year, $90 million contract to stay in Miami.
Robinson has had an amazing career trajectory, going from DIII Williams to Michigan to an undrafted player with the Heat to getting a giant contract.
It just goes to show, as Juwan Howard says, hard work is undefeated.
