Draymond Green is on vacation with LeBron, but it looks like he’s not going anywhere

Less than 24 hours after news broke that Draymond Green would opt out of his deal with the Warriors, the Golden State forward was spotted vacationing in France with LeBron James.
Were paranoid Warriors fans finally proven right? Not quite.
NBA scoopster Adrian Wojnarowski said Monday that Green and the Warriors “are two sides who very much want to get a deal done” and called Green’s opt-out “more procedural.” The Golden State veteran had a player option for the final year of the four-year, $100 million extension he signed in 2019.
“I think there’s certainly a desire on both sides to stay together,” Wojnarowski said on “SportsCenter” on Monday night. “They want each other. I think, Draymond Green, the idea of continuing with Steph Curry and with Klay Thompson and certainly Steve Kerr, I think it means the world to him.”
Green may be chilling abroad with LeBron, but that’s about as far as he’ll go. “They’re not really posturing here, threatening that they’re going to go somewhere else,” Woj said about Green and his agent, Rich Paul, citing discussions with Paul and new Dubs GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. (The rookie GM said, “We really want Draymond back,” at his introductory press conference Monday.)
The ESPN reporter did hedge a bit, saying “it could happen” that negotiations go sideways, but Wojnarowski eventually concluded, “I think these sides are destined to reunite.”
Even as he has the opportunity to go somewhere else, it seems like Green and the Warriors have a special union with one another that can’t be broken. His relationship with James might be pretty good, too, but they’re just friends.
