Dragon Lee has been spotted mostly on NXT, but recently started appearing on the main roster. Now, we are hearing positive things about his WWE future.
Last year, both WWE and AEW were interested in signing Dragon Lee. In the end, he opted to join WWE.
He was sent to NXT, where the deal was he would stay there for a year. Apparently, things have changed.
Lee is now part of the main roster according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. They continued how he has been heavily praised and his short program with Dominik Mysterio helped.
“Dragon Lee did so well with Dominik that it looks like he’s now on the main roster,” the report stated. “The nature of the deal he signed did indicate he’d be on the main roster after one year in NXT to begin with, but the match with Dominik may have sped up his timetable.”
“He was legitimately debating between AEW and WWE last year when both made their offers and WWE did indicate main roster money in the deal for year two. Lee asked around and was told that AEW was oversaturated with talent and WWE would be best for him.”
“In Mexico, a lot of people were looking at how Dragon Lee and Bandido, who started at similar times, did, respectively. Bandido was slowed down by injuries but at this point Lee is ahead.”

So far, it seems like Dragon Lee made the right call. Bandido has been dealing with an injury since June, but he seems lost in the oversized AEW roster.
WWE is looking for the next big star from South America to replace Rey Mysterio. Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee and Santos Escobar are legit contenders.
Honestly, WWE probably sees Dominik and Lee higher than Escobar due to the age difference. Still, a bunch of talented wrestlers for WWE to feature each week.

So, will Dragon Lee be the next Rey Mysterio?
