Dr Shola claims fact Lucy Letby was white meant hospital bosses ‘fell for her tears’

Lucy Letby was let off the hook by hospital bosses who “fell for her tears” because of her skin colour, claims a well-known activist.
Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamim, a women’s rights activist, suggested worrying reports about the serial killer would’ve been taken more seriously if Letby wasn’t white.
She wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Lucy Letby exemplifies how [the] ideology of Whiteness keeps Britain in a chokehold.
“They believed her tears/denials even though evidence said otherwise for no other reason than she’s White.
“A Black or Brown nurse would’ve been reported to the police immediately & sacked for suspicion.”
It comes as the former NHS manager at the hospital where Lucy Letby killed seven babies between 2015 and 2016 is suspended after it is said she ignored “serious concerns” about Letby.
Hospital staff at the Countess of Chester Hospital mentioned that Letby was the only nurse on shift when three babies died within the space of two weeks.
But Letby would go on to continue her killings until she was eventually removed from the hospital in July 2016 after the deaths of three triplet boys and the collapse of a baby.
One of the hospital staff who raised the alarm about Letby was Dr Ravi Jayaram but his suspicions were dismissed and he was even made to apologise to the killer.
Dr Jayaram claims the then-Chief Executive Tony Chambers told consultants working at the hospital in 2017 to “draw a line” under their suspicions and that there would be “consequences” if they didn’t.
In response to his comments, Dr Shola wrote: “If she wasn’t White I have no doubt his suspicions of her would’ve been taken seriously, reported to the police & he won’t have been made to apologise to her.”
Dr Shoya also complained about media coverage of the making of Lucy Letby, adding: “Narratives about an evil person’s childhood & graduation pics only serve to normalise White criminals & create alternative facts for their evil.
“British media does this deliberately. Something they never do for Black & Brown criminals.”
