Don’t look for Tom Brady covering the Super Bowl on FOX Sports following retirement

Tom Brady won’t be suiting up for Super Bowl LVII. He also won’t be in the broadcast booth for FOX Sports on Sunday, Feb. 12, when the Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles.

In May, FOX Sports announced Brady will join the network as its No. 1 NFL game analyst following his retirement, which he announced on Wednesday. And Brady will get paid a ridiculous sum to become a broadcaster, reportedly landing a 10-year, $375 million contract.

However The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand reports “As for this Super Bowl, which is on Fox, all indications are that network executives will not put him in the booth. They know it would be stupid and unwise with their $375 million investment to try a three-man setup for the first time with 100 million people watching. If Brady was unsteady, he would immediately create more questions as to why Fox is replacing Olsen with him. And that investment might quickly look poor.”

On top of that TMZ reports Brady is “going to enjoy his first true break from football in a long time.”

Tom’s also got a massive deal with Fox Sports … a deal we’re told he’s not going to rush into starting, but one he’s excited to take on when the time is right. That, we’re told, won’t happen for several months.

So when FOX broadcasts Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, expect to see former Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen and Kevin Burkhardt in the all-N.J. broadcast booth. Olsen and Burkhardt have been FOX’s No. 1 NFL broadcast team all season.

As for Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion walks away from an incredible 23-year NFL career, three with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 20 with the New England Patriots.

Brady won an unprecedented five Super Bowl MVP Awards to go along with three NFL MVP Awards and just about every passing record in the book.
