Don’t forget about Lehky
Lehky #Lehky
BROSSARD – Over the last five games, the dynamic duo of Max Domi and Jonathan Drouin has been torching the opposition.
But, it’s also important to acknowledge the work of fellow linemate Artturi Lehkonen, too.
The 23-year-old Finn has collected two assists since being paired with Domi and Drouin, but the stats don’t really tell you just how valuable he’s been to the success of the trio.
Following Wednesday’s practice on the South Shore, Lehkonen’s teammates were quick to praise the talented youngster’s contributions so far this season.
“Lehky has been playing really well since the start of the year. He’s a guy who works hard all the time and is willing to do the dirty work,” explained Drouin. “He has a good shot and when he has a chance to score, he’s capable of putting the puck in the net.”
For his part, Phillip Danault gave credit to Lehkonen for his stellar defensive play as well.
“He’s really good at getting pucks back. He’s also ready to pay the price offensively and defensively,” explained Danault. “He never ignores any aspect of his game.”

An instant connection
While playing alongside Domi, Drouin is on a five-game point streak with three goals and seven points during that span.
Domi is also on a streak of his own, with two goals and five points in his last four outings.
All three players clearly have some serious chemistry going on right now.
“Domi and I think the same way on the ice. I think we have good chemistry, but I don’t think there’s a word to really explain the reason why it’s working,” mentioned Drouin. “I just think we all connect really well together. “

Kotkaniemi growing more and more comfortable
After playing eight games with the Habs, the young Finn is feeling increasingly at ease with the rest of the group.
“I’m definitely feeling better and better. How many games have I played? Eight?,” said Kotkaniemi with a laugh. “I’m getting to know the guys and it’s been easier and easier to adapt.”
Fans saw that during Tuesday night’s game against the Flames when Kotkaniemi made a remarkable pass to countryman Joel Armia.
“I didn’t chirp Joel about the pass, but I hope he’ll put it in next time,” cracked Kotkaniemi.
