Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has revealed that Dominic Solanke has not taken part in full training ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Solanke, who has scored 14 goals in the Premier League this season, has been struggling with a knee injury which forced him to miss Bournemouth’s defeat to Leicester City in the FA Cup last week.

The 26-year-old returned and played 89 minutes in Bournemouth’s 2-0 win over Burnley last Sunday but Iraola claims his leading striker is still struggling with his knee issue.

‘Dom is in a similar position to this past week,’ Iraola said on Friday.

‘He hasn’t trained fully with the team, we are trying to put him in the best positions to play tomorrow.

‘Hopefully he’ll train normally this evening with his feelings we will take the decision much like we did last week.

‘He’s been playing through pain, sometimes its better, sometimes it’s worse. We’re trying to manage it with these two games we have, we don’t want to put too much training on him.

‘He someone who has played and trained a lot of minutes, he’s been very robust this season and maybe he doesn’t need to train as much as other players.

‘I hope he can play as many minutes as he can but it’s something we’re dealing with.’

Meanwhile, Iraola has confirmed that Marcos Senesi, who was forced off after just 12 minutes in last weekend’s win over Burnley due to a hamstring injury, will miss Bournemouth’s upcoming games against Sheffield United and Luton Town.

‘Marcos is out,’ Iraola said.

‘He will not travel with national team, he has a strain in hamstring will be out.

‘I don’t think we will recover anyone ahead of the weekend but while Tyler Adams is not still fully ready, he played 30 minutes with development squad this week.

‘He’s feeling well in the process, we could put him on the bench because we have spaces for him. Personally it may be a good thing but he’s continuing his process and still lacks more training. But he’s doing well.’
