The Miami Dolphins will trade the warmth of their home field in South Beach for the frigid temperatures at Arrowhead Stadium as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs next week.
The Dolphins dropped their regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills Sunday night, falling short of the AFC East title. Now, Miami will take on the Chiefs in the wild-card round.
Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the weather isn’t going to be what they’re used to, with the forecast featuring a low of 0 degrees for Saturday’s matchup.
The cold weather might not be a recipe for success for the Dolphins’ offense, which likes to make big plays and air it out. Miami will likely have to adjust its game plan according to the weather.
For the Chiefs, they’ve had the chance to get used to the cold weather in Kansas City, and they’ll be looking to use it to their advantage as they begin their quest for another Super Bowl. The Chiefs closed out the season with a pair of wins over the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Chargers, and they’re looking to continue their momentum into the wild-card round.
Momentum isn’t on the Dolphins’ side. Miami dropped its final two games of the season to the Baltimore Ravens and the Bills on. The Dolphins have struggled against the league’s top teams this season, and they’re looking to flip that trend in the cold weather on Saturday.
