Dolphins’ starting defensive end Shaq Lawson injures shoulder vs. Seahawks

MIAMI GARDENS — Shaq Lawson, the Dolphins’ starting defensive end suffered a left shoulder injury on a third-quarter sack of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
Lawson used his left arm to bring Wilson down and landed on the ground hard. Miami’s trainers attended to Lawson for roughly five minutes on the field and he went inside Hard Rock Stadium to be evaluated.
The fifth-year veteran returned to the field during the fourth quarter, sprinting onto the sidelines. He later returned to the game.
Jackson plays through injury
Austin Jackson suffered a foot injury in the third quarter against the Seahawks.
Jackson, a former USC standout the Dolphins selected with the 18th pick in the 2020 NFL draft, seemingly suffered the injury on Miami’s first drive of the third quarter.
He was replaced by Julien Davenport, who has started 26 games during his first four seasons in the NFL, eight of which came with the Dolphins last season. Jackson returned on the very next series, but then was replaced by Davenport agian.
Jackson is one of three rookies — along with Robert Hunt and Solomon Kindley — the Dolphins are grooming to be the foundation of a rebuilt offensive line, and he has been Miami’s top performing lineman this season.
