Dodgers News: Kenley Jansen Records Second Career Save Against Dodgers

Kenley #Kenley

The Dodgers and Braves delivered on the drama on Saturday. The middle game of the weekend series, which doubled as Fox Spors’ MLB Game of the Week, was a back and forth affair between the last two World Series winners.

Atlanta hung three runs on Dodgers starter Mitch White to establish a 3-0 lead after five innings. LA strung together a pair of runs in the seventh, tied the game a three a piece in the eighth, only to have reliever Brusdar Graterol give up a two-run bomb to Marcell Ozuna in the bottom of the eighth.

Longtime Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen entered the game in the top of the ninth for Atlanta to close out a 5-3 game against his former team. Jansen struck out the side to log his second career save against the Dodgers. Kenley is now just eight saves behind Joe Nathan for ninth on the all-time career saves list.

Dodgers hitters struggled to generate contact throughout the game and logged a season-high 16 strikeouts in the disappointing loss.

For the second time this year, Braves starter, and Harvard-Westlake alumn, Max Fried dominated the Dodgers. Fried recorded nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. He gave up just two earned runs against a Dodgers offense that entered the game red hot. Fried now has a 1.32 ERA against LA in two starts this season.

Atlanta and LA will square off on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball tomorrow for the rubber match. First pitch is set for 4:08PM PT.

Tony Gonsolin will get the ball for LA. Righty Spencer Strider gets the start for Atlanta.
