In a recent development, Jonathan Majors, the actor famed for his portrayal of Kang the Conqueror in the Loki series, has been released from his contracts with Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Corporation following a guilty verdict in an assault case.

According to a report by The Guardian on Tuesday, both Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Corporation decided to cut ties with Majors after he was convicted of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The incident took place in March while the two were on their way to Majors’ Chelsea apartment in a chauffeured SUV. Majors, 34, was subsequently arrested and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree aggravated assault, among other offenses.

Jealousy, sparked by romantic messages found on his phone, was cited as the cause of Majors’ assault on Jabbari, based on court testimonies. Surveillance footage presented during the trial showed Majors running through the streets of lower Manhattan, pursued by Jabbari, post the assault.

Majors and Jabbari had initially met on the set of Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2021, a month before Majors’ arrest. Majors’ successful portrayal of the time-traveling villain “Kang the Conqueror ensured him a significant role in an upcoming Avengers movie, scheduled for a May 2026 release. However, his recent conviction has raised questions about the character’s involvement in future Marvel films.

In addition to his sentencing slated for February, Majors’ career has taken a hit, with his public relations firm, The Lede Company, and his managers at Entertainment 360, choosing to terminate their relationship with the actor.
