Dillian Whyte seeks to restore his reputation after Fury loss
Whyte #Whyte
Jumping back into the ring for the first time since April, Dillian Whyte is set to face off against unbeaten American heavyweight Jermaine Franklin this Saturday at the Wembley Arena.
This will be ‘The Body Snatcher’s first bout back in the ring since being knocked out by Tyson Fury at their huge Wembley showdown. Returning to the scene of the crime, this is the British boxer’s first chance to redeem his reputation.

With 21 wins and 14 of those being knockouts, Franklin will be a fitting opponent for the Jamaican-born British boxer as he fights to claim a comeback victory – streaming exclusively on DAZN.

The Gypsy King KO’d Whyte in the sixth round in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 23rd April, to keep his unbeaten record intact, but the Body Snatcher is not prepared to lie down and accept defeat.
Days after the fight, Whyte called for a rematch against Tyson Fury and insists his opponent’s knockout blow was illegal because it was a two-handed shove that caused him to hit his head on the canvas.
The fight didn’t go beyond the sixth, with Fury producing a remarkable upper-cut to send Whyte to the canvas, before the referee called it off.

Many were surprised to learn that Whyte’s next fight would be with the relatively unknown Franklin.
His professional record currently stands at 21 wins, 0 loses and 0 draws – making the 29-year-old undefeated in his division.
That puts Franklin’s ranking at 13th in the WBO in the Heavyweight division. In relation to the greats, that places him just six spots behind someone like Anthony Joshua who’s considered a British icon of the sport.
This fight is considered a big break for the American heavyweight. Talking to Sportsmail, he said the fight against Whyte will be ‘life changing’ and admitted it could finally prove why he should be ‘up there with the top boxers in the division’.

He said: ‘It’s most definitely life changing. It’s a life changing experience and it’s a great opportunity. Hopefully it puts me up there with the top boxers. I already feel like I am up there but I have to show the world that I am up there.’
The 29-year-old’s Representative Dean Caslake of Next Level Collective (NLC) has described Franklin as ‘fearless’ and said he will ‘come forwards and meet Whyte in the centre of the ring.’
He told Sportsmail: ‘Jermaine is going to be hungrier than ever for the fight. He will be an unknown bag as his profile doesn’t match his ability.
‘I think it will be a good clash as both guys do tend to come forward. It’s not going to be stand off and try and figure each other out for long periods of time with hardly any punches thrown,’ he went on to say.
