© Provided by WCVB Boston The USGS says a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Massachusetts in Buzzards Bay on the morning of Nov. 8, 2020.
An earthquake struck off the coast of Massachusetts at 9:10 a.m., the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed.
The rumble with a 4.0 magnitude was centered on Buzzards Bay, southwest of Bliss Corner in Dartmouth, the USGS said.

Initially, the USGS report indicated the magnitude of the earthquake may have been as high as 4.2. That was later revised downward.
NewsCenter 5 has received numerous reports of shaking across southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. Anyone with video from the earthquake is asked to email newsroom@wcvb.com.
