Dickson home invasion suspect involved in officer shooting identified

The man charged for allegedly breaking into a home and subsequently being involved in a Dickson Police officer-involved shooting has been identified by local authorities.
The suspect is Randy Scott Beasley who was charged with felony vandalism and domestic assault, according to the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office.
On Saturday, March 11, sheriff’s office deputies responded to 110 Oakwood Circle in the county, just south of Interstate 40, in reference to a burglary in progress, according to a sheriff’s office press release. Beasley left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival, the release states.

Officers made contact with Beasley, who fled the scene in a vehicle and crashed near Gaskins Road, according to information gathered by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. As a Dickson officer approached the vehicle, Beasley put the vehicle in reverse and the officer fired his weapon at the subject, according to the TBI.
Beasley sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. Upon release, he was taken into custody by the sheriff’s office, the TBI states.
Sheriff’s Office detectives said Beasley had been staying at the residence and made entry back into the home after being evicted.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations is investigating the officer involved shooting that took place after Beasley left the residence.
The latest incident follows an officer-involved shooting Feb. 16 in Dickson.
A bond of $5,000 was issued and a court date of April 18 is set for Beasley. Additional charges were obtained for Beasley by Dickson Police Department.
