She has been a kooky fashion icon for decades.

And Diane Keaton lived up to her reputation even while in costume during a workday on her upcoming movie Mack & Rita.

The 75-year-old screen legend was modeling a throwback Gothic chic black dress that was cinched in with a gleaming leather belt.

In an added flourish she pulled on a pair of saucy fishnet stockings with garters to complement her black stilettos.

Diane, who became a star opposite Al Pacino in The Godfather nearly half a century ago, accessorized the look with a black choker.

Near the end of last month Diane was seen shooting the film in Palm Springs where she could be spotted in a vintage Thunderbird.

Diane stars as Aunt Rita alongside Once Upon A Time actress Elizabeth Lail as Mackenzie ‘Mack’ – who is in fact the same person.

Through a bizarre set of circumstances Mack becomes transformed into a 70-year-old and decides to rechristen herself Rita, Deadline reports.

Taylour Paige who recently appeared in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is playing Mack’s young pal who will have to adjust to her friend aging up four decades.

Mack And Rita is being directed by The League actress Katie Aselton who is making her feature film directorial debut with this project.

In recent decades Diane has became known not just as a virtuoso actress but also for her frequently idiosyncratic dress sense.

One especially memorable fashion moment was when she attended the 2004 Oscars in an outfit that was strikingly reminiscent of Charlie Chaplin.

‘You could call a good two-thirds of my wardrobe an impenetrable fortress,’ she wrote in her 2014 book Let’s Just Say It Wasn’t Pretty.

‘By this I mean the hats that hide the head, the gloves that hide the fingers, the long-sleeved turtlenecks that hide both the arms and the neck, the leggings that hide the legs, and the boots that hide the feet.’

She also dished: ‘Because of Cary Grant’s allure, and the thought of dancing through life in black and white, I’ve always been drawn to men’s clothes.’
