DE Calais Campbell, CB Marlon Humphrey among seven Ravens named to Pro Bowl

Seven Ravens were named to the Pro Bowl on Monday night, tied for the most by an NFL team this season.
Despite an up-and-down year in Baltimore, the Ravens had players from all three phases of the game selected for the AFC’s all-star team. On offense, fullback Patrick Ricard and tackle Orlando Brown Jr. were both selected for the second time. On defense, Calais Campbell (sixth career selection), outside linebacker Matthew Judon (second) and cornerback Marlon Humphrey (second) were honored. And kicker Justin Tucker (fourth) and long snapper Morgan Cox (fourth) were recognized on special teams.
Only the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks joined the Ravens with seven players on the initial Pro Bowl roster. Selections were determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches, with each group’s vote counting equally toward the selections.
Reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Lamar Jackson, who led all players in fan voting last year, was among several Ravens standouts who didn’t make the cut. After posting one of the NFL’s most dominant seasons by a quarterback in 2019, Jackson ranks No. 11 in ESPN’s QBR metric. He’s rushed for 828 yards (6.1 per carry) and a career-high-tying seven touchdowns while passing for 2,461 yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 64.8% accuracy.
Campbell, limited to 10 games by a calf injury and COVID-19 infection, has 27 tackles, 10 quarterback hits and four sacks. He also has six passes defensed, among the NFL’s leaders.

Judon leads the Ravens with five sacks and is one of three outside linebackers with at least 40 tackles, 20 quarterback hits and five sacks this season, joining Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt and former Raven Za’Darius Smith, now with the Green Bay Packers.
“Honestly, I didn’t have the numbers or production like last year when I went to my first Pro Bowl, so the amount of excitement, surprise and happiness that rushed in when I got the news — I was just elated and really happy,” Judon said in a statement. “I could have done jumping jacks all around the house.”
With his signature punch-out technique, Humphrey has already forced eight fumbles this season, breaking former Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs’ single-season franchise record (seven). The single-season NFL record is 10 forced fumbles. Humphrey also has 2½ sacks, eight passes defensed and an interception.
This is Cox’s second straight Pro Bowl selection by NFL players and coaches. He snaps for punter Sam Koch, who ranks eighth in the NFL with a 42.9-yard net average this season, and Tucker. Still the most accurate kicker in NFL history, Tucker is 23-for-26 on field-goal attempts and 44-for-45 on extra-point attempts this season. Two of his field-goal misses were from 57 and 61 yards, and his lone extra-point miss was blocked.
An NFL-record-tying 12 Ravens were named to the initial Pro Bowl roster last year: Jackson, Ricard, Stanley, Judon, Humphrey, Tucker, Cox, running back Mark Ingram II, tight end Mark Andrews, guard Marshal Yanda, cornerback Marcus Peters and safety Earl Thomas III. Peters later pulled out because of an injury, while Brown was named an injury replacement for the Oakland Raiders’ Trent Brown.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL has moved the Pro Bowl from an indoor event at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium to a virtual setting played out on the “Madden NFL 21” video game.
