An error by Manchester United keeper David de Gea allowed West Ham’s Said Benrahma to score his 10th goal of the season.
Benrahma beat De Gea with a soft shot from 23 yards to put West Ham 1-0 up 27 minutes into Sunday’s Premier League game at the London Stadium.
There appeared to be little danger as Benrahma had no teammates up in support and was surround by three opposition players.
But Benrahma’s hopeful shot bounced in front of De Gea, who made a mess of his attempt to block the ball.
The ball deflected off De Gea’s right hand before nestling in the back of his net.
Describing the goal on BT Sport, former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas said: “It’s an absolute shocker from David de Gea.
“That’s beyond shocking. His team is in full control of this game and to let one in like that… He’ll know himself.”
