Dave Chappelle and Dave Grohl make bold 2020 prediction in Saturday Night Live promo

Dave Chappelle might be a little haunted after his last post-election stint on Saturday Night Live.
And that could explain why, in a new promo for this week’s episode, he’s reticent to make any calls about the 2020 election. “Here we go again! I’m Dave Chappelle, and I’ll be hosting Saturday Night Live this week with musical guest the Foo Fighters,” he says to begin the clip.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl then interjects that he’s “going to call it” — though he doesn’t specify what “it” is. “Don’t do it, man. Just let it happen,” Chappelle warns.

“I’m gonna call it right now… Best show ever!” Grohl says, which gets a “damn it, Dave” out of Chappelle. The comedian previously hosted the show in 2016, after Donald Trump’s stunning win over Hillary Clinton.
As of Friday afternoon, neither 2020 candidate — President Trump or former Vice President Joe Biden — had officially reached the necessary 270 electoral votes needed to secure the presidency, which should make for an interesting broadcast on Saturday.
SNL airs live coast to coast at 11:30 p.m.ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC.
