Dan Walker is set to be replaced by Alex Scott on Football Focus after he quit the show last week, according to reports.
The BBC Breakfast presenter announced his departure from the show after 12 at the helm years in a video uploaded to social media where he stated ‘it’s time for someone else to take the reins’.
It’s now being claimed that former Chelsea and Arsenal star Alex, who is a regular on Match Of The Day 2, will be taking over the Saturday lunchtime show when Dan leaves at the end of the season.
‘Alex was deemed the perfect fit for the role, an insider said. ‘After her stint on Strictly in 2019, her popularity went through the roof.
‘Not only is she a great broadcaster, her knowledge of the game is outstanding.’

Dan confirmed this morning his replacement will be announced by the end of the season.

She’s appeared on a number of sports programmes, including co-presenting CBBC’s Match of the Day Kickabout and BBC One’s The Women’s Football Show.
In 2019, Alex was a contestant on the 17th series of Strictly Come Dancing, paired with professional dancer Neil Jones. The couple was eliminated in week 11, coming fifth overall.
