D-Lee had Warriors game circled, balls out in Suns’ win originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Damion Lee has been looking forward to his return to Chase Center.

The former Warriors guard faced off against his former team for the first time in Golden State’s 125-113 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.

Lee, who signed a one-year, $2.1 million contract with Phoenix in the offseason, spent four seasons with the Warriors. The 30-year-old previously spent time in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors before establishing himself as a sharpshooter off the bench for Golden State.

Prior to Tuesday night’s game, Lee finally received his 2022 championship ring from none other than brother-in-law Steph Curry.

Lee then proceeded to score 22 points on 3-of-8 shooting from the field, 2-of-5 from 3-point range and a perfect 14-of-14 from the free-throw line in 30 minutes for the Suns.

In speaking to TNT’s Chris Haynes on the court after the game, Lee discussed what his memorable return to Chase Center meant to him.

“As soon as the schedule came out it was the first game I circled,” Lee told Haynes. “New team, new vibe, trying to figure it out. The memories I had here, being with the organization for five years. One in Santa Cruz, four with the team, it’s come full circle. These fans, everyone here has welcomed me with open arms since I first came here to Golden State. It’s a blessing.”

Between receiving his championship ring and dominating against his former team, it certainly was a night to remember for Lee.
