Cyno in Genshin Impact earns himself the title of “Electro Razor” thanks to their similar play style. Both characters rely on their Elemental Burst and mostly do Normal Attack damage while having Electro DMG by their side. The two also frequently use their Skill while in their Burst form. However, unlike Razor who wields a Genshin Impact claymore, Cyno uses a polearm instead.

The addition of Cyno and Candace successfully brings the number of Polearm characters to a higher sum compared to catalyst and claymore — a great feat, considering Genshin Impact was released with only one Polearm user. With the many polearm users, there are also various new weapons for the characters to wield. For Cyno, here are his best weapons in Genshin Impact.

Missive Windspear

  • Primary Stat: 509 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 41.35% ATK
  • R5 Passive: Within 10s after an Elemental Reaction is triggered, ATK is increased by 24% and Elemental Mastery is increased by 96.
  • Missive Windspear is a free weapon, so it’s currently one of the most accessible equipment for Cyno in Genshin Impact. Unfortunately, though, like many other free weapons, Missive Windspear falls short when compared to other viable choices.

    White Tassel

  • Primary Stat: 401 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 23.4% CRIT Rate
  • R5 Passive: Increases Normal Attack DMG by 48%.
  • Genshin Impact Cyno relies on his Normal Attack, so White Tassel is an amazing choice for him. Although the polearm is 3-star in rarity, the massive 48% DMG boost makes a large difference, especially if players are playing Cyno in an Aggravate team comp.

    Prototype Starglitter

  • Primary Stat: 509 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 45.94% ER
  • R5 Passive: After using an Elemental Skill, increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 16% for 12s. Max 2 stacks.
  • Prototype Starglitter is a forgeable weapon in Genshin Impact, and it’s a great option for Cyno. The General Mahamatra can easily stack up on the weapon’s passive thanks to his Skill’s low cooldown. The gear has an Energy Recharge sub-stat, which is great at helping Cyno recover his Elemental Burst Energy.

    Blackcliff Pole

  • Primary Stat: 510 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 55.1% CRIT DMG
  • Passive: After defeating an opponent, ATK is increased by 12% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.
  • Blackcliff Pole in Genshin Impact is highly situational, since players should ensure Cyno defeats enemies constantly to activate its passive, but once the stack is full, a fully refined Blackcliff Pole with a full-stack can perform as well as an R1 Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. This means, with proper management, Blackcliff Pole is greatly viable for Cyno.

    Kitain Cross Spear

  • Primary Stat: 564 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 110 EM
  • R5 Passive: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 12%. After Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the character loses 3 Energy but regenerates 5 Energy every 2s for the next 6s. This effect can occur once every 10s. Can be triggered even when the character is not on the field.
  • Kitain Cross Spear is also a forgeable weapon in Genshin Impact, and it’s great for Cyno in a lot of ways. First, it has the Elemental Mastery sub-stat, which is amazing if players are using Cyno in an Elemental Reaction team.

Additionally, the weapon’s passive also helps the General Mahamatra regain his Energy. Don’t worry about losing his Elemental Burst after casting his Skill, as players can quickly tap his Burst after pressing the Skill. If done properly, Kitain Cross Spear’s Energy regen effect will trigger without Cyno having to lose Energy.

    Deathmatch

  • Primary Stat: 454 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 36.8% CRIT Rate
  • Passive: If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 16% and DEF is increased by 16%. If there are fewer than 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 24%.
  • Deathmatch is a generally excellent weapon for damage-dealing characters. For Cyno, even the DEF boost will help him, as he can be squishy while dominating a whopping 18s of field time.

    Staff of Homa

  • Primary Stat: 608 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 66.2% CRIT DMG
  • Passive: HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 0.8% of the wielder’s Max HP. When the wielder’s HP is less than 50%, this ATK bonus is increased by an additional 1% of Max HP.
  • Cyno has both high base ATK and HP, which makes Staff of Homa a brilliant choice for him. The Critical Damage sub-stat will surely come in handy, especially if players are making an Aggravate team.

    Skyward Spine

  • Primary Stat: 674 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 36.8% Energy Recharge
  • Passive: Increases CRIT Rate by 8% and increases Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Additionally, Normal and Charged Attacks hits on opponents have a 50% chance to trigger a vacuum blade that deals 40% of ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can occur no more than once every 2s.

Similar to Genshin Impact Xiao, Skyward Spine’s Energy Recharge is also helpful for Cyno. However, unlike the Yaksha, Cyno will also benefit from the Normal ATK SPD buff. Although it seems like he’s dealing Burst damage, Cyno’s Burst’s hits are actually considered Normal Attack damage, and as such, they are affected by Skyward Spine’s passive.

    Primordial Jade Winged-Spear

  • Primary Stat: 674 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 22.1% CRIT Rate
  • Passive: On hit, increases ATK by 3.2% for 6s. Max 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. On max stacks, DMG dealt is increased by 12%.
  • As a main DPS, it’s easy for Cyno to stack up on Primordial Jade Winged-Spear’s passive. Players can practically maximize it in a few seconds. Afterward, Cyno will continuously be boosted with a 22.4% ATK buff and a 12% all DMG bonus.

    Staff of the Scarlet Sands

  • Primary Stat: 541 ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 44.1% CRIT Rate
  • Passive: The equipping character gains 52% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. When an Elemental Skill hits opponents, the Dream of the Scarlet Sands effect will be gained for 10s: The equipping character will gain 28% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. Max 3 stacks.
  • The best weapon for Cyno in Genshin Impact is none other than the Staff of the Scarlet Sands. This weapon is perfectly catered for Cyno, and players can happily use Elemental Mastery artifacts without any fear of lacking ATK.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
