Cowboys LG Connor McGovern exits game vs. Bucs with apparent ankle injury

The Dallas Cowboys were already short-handed on the offensive line Sunday night against Tampa Bay.
The situation up front took another hit on Dallas’ opening drive at AT&T Stadium when left guard Connor McGovern was rolled up on during an Ezekiel Elliott run, suffering what appeared to be an ankle injury.
After being assisted off the field, trainers escorted McGovern straight to the locker room for further evaluation. The team announced the guard as questionable to return, but downgraded him to out during halftime.
Rookie Tyler Smith was already filling in at left tackle for injured veteran Tyron Smith.
Matt Farniok entered the game to replace McGovern on Dallas’ first drive, which ultimately ended in a field goal from Brett Maher.
