Cooking in silence among 3 things learned about Cowboys in Week 17 win

Jimmy Johnson #JimmyJohnson

When the Cowboys acquired Cooks over the offseason, expectations were high for the veteran WR. The expectation was he’d add another 1,000 yards season to his resume and maybe even claim his first Pro Bowl spot in the process. By those expectations, Cooks’ Cowboys career has been rather disappointing because16 games in, he only has 48 receptions for 618 yards.

Yet recently, Cooks has carved an important little role in Dallas. In many ways, he’s become the silent assassin of the Cowboys passing game. With four touchdowns in the past six weeks, Cooks is winning with quality and not quantity.

Despite only standing 5-foot-10, Cooks is a big target for Prescott in the end zone and becoming an ideal complement to CeeDee Lamb who rightfully demands a heavy workload at WR opposite him.
