Connor Goldson has ended months of speculation about his future by signing a new four-year deal at Rangers.
The 29-year-old English centre back has been a key figure for first Steven Gerrard then Giovanni van Bronckhorst since moving from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018, but had been widely expected to move on when his contract expired this week.
Last month Goldson added a Scottish Cup winners’ medal to the Scottish Premiership title he claimed last year, but immediately before the Hampden victory over Heart of Midlothian, Van Bronckhorst admitted that there was only a “small chance” Goldson would still be at Ibrox next season.
