Liverpool starting XI: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson; Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Everton host Liverpool in the first Merseyside derby of the season at an empty Goodison Park this afternoon.

Jordan Pickford keeps his place in the Everton goal despite the signing of Robin Olsen, and he plays behind a back four of Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne.

Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes continue in midfield, with James Rodriguez and Richarlison supporting Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top.

Olsen is named on the bench, alongside fellow new signing Ben Godfrey as well as Fabian Delph, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Alex Iwobi, Bernard and Tom Davies.

Liverpool have Adrian in goal with Alisson still out injured, behind a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson.

Thaigo starts in midfield, joining Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in the engine room, whilst Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane support Roberto Firmino in the final third.

Diogo Jota starts on the bench after a stunning display for Portugal in midweek, and joins Caoimhin Kelleher, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones and Takumi Minamino as substitutes.
