Commemoration events being held to honor Tree of Life victims

Here are some of the commemoration events being held Thursday to honor the victims of the Tree of Life. This is not a complete list.

8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tree of Life synagogue, 5898 Wilkins Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217: There is no formal programming set for this location. However, it is typical that community members gather informally throughout the morning to pay respects, remember and mourn.; 10.27 Healing Partnership will be on site to offer support and counseling.

3 to 4 p.m., Ceremony site, Prospect Drive, Schenley Park: Schenley Park will be open to the public for activities for people of all ages and displays of artwork and solidarity.

4 to 5:15 p.m, The Commemoration Ceremony, Prospect Drive, Schenley Park: There will be candle-lighting in memory of the victims, remarks honoring first responders who risked their lives to save others, prayers by Jewish community leaders, and choir performances.
