NFL fans are respecting the specs. It could also be recency bias.

Indianapolis Colts rookie kicker Rodrigo Blankenship is the leading Pro Bowl vote-getter among fans, the league reported Wednesday. He had 44,865 votes.

Blankenship was the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after booting a winning field goal in overtime against the Green Bay Packers. He is 23-of-26 on field goals and 25-of-27 on PATs for 94 points, tied for second in the league behind Tampa Bay kicker Ryan Succop’s 96.

It will be tough for Blankenship to overtake Baltimore’s Justin Tucker (one missed kick all year and coming off two straight All-Pro seasons) for a Pro Bowl nod, but if Blankenship keeps knocking through kicks, it’s possible.

No other Colts lead voting at their respective positions.
