“Collingwood have the best two players”: Dangerfield’s call ahead of Grand Final

Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield believes Collingwood have the best two players on the field ahead of Saturday’s Grand Final against Brisbane.
While both sides have star players and All-Australian names littered throughout their line-up, Dangerfield believes two stand above the rest and they wear black and white.
Even though Brisbane’s Lachie Neale claimed this year’s Brownlow Medal and Collingwood’s Nick Daicos probably would have if he didn’t miss the last month of the home and away season with injury, Dangerfield believes Jordan De Goey and Darcy Moore are number one and two in terms of the best players named across both sides.
He discussed why he felt the duo were standouts with Josh Jenkins and Andy Maher on SEN The Run Home.
Dangerfield: “I was thinking about this the other day I picked De Goey and then I’d pick Darcy Moore.”
Jenkins: “I’d pick Joe Daniher.”
Dangerfield: “No, I picked Darcy Moore because I reckon Moore’s better than Joe Daniher.
Maher: “So, De Goey and Moore would be your first two picks?”
Dangerfield: “Yes, I think they would. I reckon that Collingwood have the best two players on the ground.
“Neale’s a great player and (Zac) Bailey is a great player.
“But in terms of importance to your team, a goalkicking midfielder that’s six foot two and a key defender that’s six foot eight. (That’s number one).”
Moore has been named at full back while De Goey was named at full forward when Collingwood released their Grand Final team.
It’s expected that Moore will play on Brisbane’s Joe Daniher while De Goey will spend most of his time as a clearance midfielder.
Saturday’s Grand Final at the MCG begins at 2:30 pm (AEST).
