CM Punk says you can’t go around punching people backstage.

CM Punk made his return to WWE SmackDown on the December 8 episode, and he had a lot to say. He noted that he had come home, and he was excited to be on this ride with all the fans. Punk asked the fans where they wanted to see him sign, as he is currently a free agent. He said that he would make his decision on the December 11 episode of WWE RAW.

Punk also teased competing in the WWE Royal Rumble, though he did not officially declare for the match.

Punk went on to set his sights on Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. He acknowledged “The Tribal Chief” but warned him not to forget who the original Paul Heyman Guy was. He also noted that Heyman used to be his “wise man.”

Punk also brought up Kevin Owens and noted that they were alike, as Owens is prickly. He said, “I don’t know who would feel comfortable working with someone who just punches people in the face backstage. It’s 2023, you can’t be doing stuff like that. It’s insane.” He then laughed it off. Punk was seemingly referring to either AEW All Out 2022 or AEW All In 2023, where he got into backstage incidents.

Punk also referred to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and took a shot at him by saying he wasn’t “the man” in his own house. The former WWE Champion closed his message by saying he was back because he wanted to finish his story, and that meant headlining WrestleMania.
