Clippers vs. Mavericks score: Live NBA playoff updates as Luka Doncic, Dallas try to even up series in Game 2

The 2020 NBA playoffs roll along on Wednesday night with a Western Conference showdown. After a narrow Game 1 win on Monday night, the Los Angeles Clippers are trying to take a 2-0 lead over the Dallas Mavericks in their first-round series. The Mavericks, however, have responded. They’ve had control of Game 2 the entire way and enter the fourth quarter with a double-digit lead.

Los Angeles immediately became a title favorite when it acquired both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in the offseason, and it has lived up to expectations in the regular season, finishing No. 2 in the West. So far the Clippers have been strong in the bubble, but with Montrezl Harrell arriving late, and Patrick Beverley dealing with a calf injury — he’s out for Game 2 — it still feels like they have another level to reach

As for the Mavericks, they’re back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016, and it’s almost entirely thanks to their young phenom, Luka Doncic. The second-year star was incredible in his playoff debut, finishing with 42 points, seven rebound and nine assists. It wasn’t enough, however, as the Mavericks faded down the stretch, due in part to the fact that they were playing without Kristaps Porzingis, who was ejected in dubious fashion. Follow below for all the latest news, highlights and updates throughout the game.
