Cleveland musician Alex Bevan loves the outdoors: ‘Rocking the RV Life’ podcast

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Alex Bevan — aka the “Lake Erie troubadour” and “Skinny Little Boy from Cleveland, Ohio” — is known for his prolific music career in Northeast Ohio, which has yielded many albums of original material, countless concerts and opening gigs for some of the biggest acts around, including Jimmy Buffett, The Clash, Billy Joel and more.

But Bevan has other interests besides music, including camping and traveling.

Bevan and his wife Deirdre have taken their teardrop trailer on some big journeys, including Letchworth State Park in New York, Lake Anita State Park in Iowa, Jekyll Island in Georgia and Nova Scotia. Bevan recently published a book of poetry about his travels, called “One Year Later.”

Bevan chats about his adventures on the latest episode of “Rocking the RV Life,” hosted by Jeff and Patti Kinzbach.

Jeff first met Bevan while working as a DJ at WMMS-FM/100.7, where Bevan regularly performed at the station’s coffee break concerts. (Jeff is known for his 50 years on the airwaves, first as a host of the Buzzard Morning Zoo on WMMS, and later at WONE-FM/97.5 in Akron.)

The Kinzbachs have been living out of their RV since Jeff retired from the radio business in September 2020. Now, Jeff and Patti have transferred Jeff’s radio skills to their adventurous podcast, while traveling North America. The “Rocking the RV Life” podcast is presented in partnership with cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer.
