CJ McCollum, like the rest of us, puzzled with Kevin Durant’s unique COVID situation

After coming in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant was allowed to play against Toronto Raptors, but then was pulled from the game in the third quarter….

But why?

The NBA needs to clear this up.

Here’s how it went down:

It was announced pre-game that Durant would not start tonight as the Nets (14-10 and third in the Eastern Conference) prepared to host the Raptors (10-12 and seventh in the Eastern Conference) on Friday evening in Brooklyn, NY. 

Apparently, the team was waiting to hear the results of a COVID-19 test of someone Durant came in contact with earlier that day. So Durant was held out of the game initially. But then, Durant played a total of 16 minutes in the game before getting pulled in the third quarter “due to health and safety” protocols. Turns out, the test the team was waiting for came back positive. 

Then the statement from the NBA.

Durant was not happy about the sequence of events.

The whole situation is pretty confusing and puzzling if you ask us. Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum also chimed in on Twitter with some confusion:
